POF gives free members unusually broad access compared with many mainstream dating apps. A free account can set search filters, use Meet Me, see mutual matches and exchange messages. Creating a profile

Registration asks for core personal information, location and dating preferences, followed by a profile description and photos. Tokens pay for one-off visibility tools such as Today’s Catch and Super Yes. Purchased tokens expire after six months.

Our recommendation: Use the free account for normal searching and messaging. Premium is worthwhile for members who want read receipts, visitor information and stronger profile visibility; the eight-month plan offers the lowest monthly rate.

POF provides community guidelines, safety and security information, in-app reporting and blocking. These controls help remove unwanted contact, but they do not make every profile genuine or every conversation safe.

Open iPhone Settings, tap your Apple ID, open Subscriptions, select POF and choose Cancel Subscription.

Subscription bought through Google Play

Open Google Play, tap the profile icon, choose Payments & subscriptions, open Subscriptions, select POF and cancel.

POF says subscriptions are final and non-refundable except where special legal terms apply. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not normally create a refund for unused time. Turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the membership expires. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Bottom line

POF earns consideration because its free account lets UK users evaluate real local matches and conversations. Upgrade for a named feature—not simply because the app prompts for payment—and cancel through the original purchase channel before the renewal deadline.
