1. Registration and eligibility

Registration is free, but the current agreement requires users to be 50 or older. A profile is visible to other members of the SilverSingles service, including people who joined through an associated affiliate site.

2. Discovery and profiles

The live service provides profile discovery, likes, lists and private conversations. The site now presents itself around local 50-plus matches and shared intentions rather than the old personality-test-led UK proposition.

3. Messaging and community

Members can use private chats, manage hidden conversations, like or unlike profiles and participate in community areas. An optional auto-reply can be switched off in Settings.

4. Photo verification

The verification process compares a selfie video with the public profile photo. The FAQ says verification can fail if the face is unclear, lighting is poor, the person does not match the profile photos, camera permission is blocked or all public photos are deleted.

5. Blocking and reporting

The three-dot menu on a profile includes Hide, which prevents that member from contacting you, viewing your profile or commenting on your blog posts. Threats, violence or theft should also be reported to local law enforcement and to SilverSingles.

6. Apps and browser access

The service agreement covers both the website and mobile application, and the live site provides a Get the App route. Account settings, chats and verification are available through the supported web or app interface.

7. UK availability

The .co.uk domain no longer serves a dedicated UK product and redirects to the .com service. UK residents can reach the global platform, but the site does not currently publish a separate UK member count, local activity figure or GBP subscription table.

The service has a clear audience, a detailed personality questionnaire and an interface that avoids the pressure of swipe-heavy dating apps. Premium is necessary for unlimited messaging and full photo access, so the three-month plan is the shortest practical test. The 12-month plan has the lowest monthly rate, but it requires the largest upfront commitment.

Premium includes unlimited communication, full access to member photos, read receipts, profile-visitor information, the full personality profile, up to 20 extra Wildcard matches a day and complete use of the mobile app. Longer plans reduce the monthly rate, but the full term is charged in one payment.

SilverSingles uses a selfie-video verification process and says every member is verified. A successful check confirms that the person in the selfie video resembles the person shown in the profile photos; it does not prove identity, relationship status, financial reliability or criminal history.

The site explicitly states that it does not conduct criminal background checks. Members can hide abusive accounts, report profiles and conversations, and contact support at support@SilverSingles.com. Never send money, disclose banking credentials or move immediately to an untraceable messaging service.

Registration takes longer than on swipe-based apps because SilverSingles builds the personality profile during sign-up. The questionnaire covers lifestyle, values, habits and relationship preferences, then the service uses those answers to produce a focused set of compatible suggestions.

Members normally receive a small daily selection of matches instead of an endless feed. Search filters cover practical criteria such as age, distance and location, while message filters help control who can contact you. The interface keeps matches, profile visitors and conversations in separate areas, which makes it easier to follow for users who prefer a conventional dating-site layout.

The iOS and Android apps mirror the main website experience, including profile browsing, messages, match suggestions and account controls. The slower pace and structured matching suit over-50s seeking a serious relationship; people who want casual dating or high-volume swiping will find it restrictive.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the same duration as the initial term. To disable renewal, modify or cancel a subscription, sign in, open Settings and follow the subscription instructions, or contact support@SilverSingles.com.

The May 2026 service agreement gives a three-business-day trial period: cancelling within three business days of subscribing qualifies for a refund when notice is sent through the stated contact channel. After that period, subscription fees are non-refundable. Cancelling renewal stops the next charge; it does not create a pro-rated refund for the current term.
