Hinge+ vs HingeX: What Do the Paid Features Actually Add?
The two subscriptions solve different problems. More likes, more control and more visibility are not the same benefit.
Hinge+ expands the tools you use to choose people. HingeX includes those tools and adds priority and visibility features. If you mainly want more likes, better filters or a clearer view of incoming interest, Hinge+ addresses that task. HingeX deserves consideration when you specifically want the extra discovery and placement tools, not simply because it is the higher tier.
What changes when you upgrade?
Ordinary matching and messaging are available without a subscription. The purchase decision is about restrictions and convenience, rather than paying to unlock every conversation.
| Feature | Free Hinge | Hinge+ | HingeX |
|---|---|---|---|
| Matching and chat | Included | Included | Included |
| Outgoing likes | Daily allowance | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Incoming likes | One at a time | All together | All together |
| Undo a skip | One each week | Unlimited undo of the most recent skip | Unlimited undo of the most recent skip |
| Additional preferences | Basic discovery preferences | Subscriber filters | Subscriber filters |
| Priority likes and continuous visibility feature | Not included | Not included | Included |

Where Hinge+ can save time
Hinge+ makes the most sense when the free restrictions interrupt something you already do. If you regularly find people you genuinely want to like and exhaust the allowance, unlimited likes removes that limit. It does not make the people receiving those likes more interested.
Seeing incoming likes together is a different benefit. You can review that interest in one place rather than decide on each person before seeing the next. It can be convenient if there is enough incoming interest to organise; it adds less when there is little to review.
Subscriber preferences include family plans, children, smoking, education and other criteria. A relevant filter can reduce repetitive screening, but only where the profile information exists and reflects what the person wants. It cannot resolve an unanswered question or a misleading profile.
Suppose having children is a firm relationship consideration for you. Paying for a corresponding filter may be useful. Paying merely because you hope a more expensive tier attracts more serious people has no equivalent feature-based justification.
What HingeX adds beyond Hinge+
HingeX adds three main functions: See Compatible People Sooner, Get Seen by More Daters and Priority Likes. These change recommendations or placement; they are not identity checks or assurances of compatibility.
Priority Likes stay higher in a recipient’s likes list for seven days before becoming ordinary likes. They look like regular likes, rather than carrying a visible premium label. A Rose is different: it has its own indicator and placement above Priority Likes.
Get Seen by More Daters runs while the subscription is active. It is a lighter, continuous visibility feature rather than the same product as a separately purchased Boost. It does not override another person’s preferences.
See Compatible People Sooner uses preferences and recent activity to prioritise recommendations. The sensible reason to consider it is the discovery format, not a belief that Hinge has independently established that the recommended people will make better partners.
Roses and Boosts are separate decisions
A Rose highlights interest in a particular person. A Boost increases your profile’s visibility for one hour; a Superboost lasts twenty-four hours. Those are different tasks, so buying all of them is not a single coherent upgrade plan.
Hinge provides one free Rose each week, and unused free Roses do not accumulate. You do not need to buy a pack merely to try sending one.
Before buying visibility, look at what a new visitor would see. An unclear main photograph, contradictory intentions or answers that give no sense of you remain the same after a Boost. Our dating profile examples show how to make the content more specific.
A quiet period also does not prove that visibility is the problem. There may be few people who fit your preferences nearby, or the people you like may not be interested. A purchase cannot distinguish those explanations for you.
Compare the total cost of the two plans
Hinge sells subscriptions inside the app rather than offering one fixed, public UK tariff for every purchase. There is no reliable single pound price to attach to either tier here. A price for a US account, or a different subscription duration, is not a like-for-like UK comparison.
Compare the two offers for the same duration. Record the amount charged now, any instalments, the next renewal and whether you intend to buy extras as well. Our dating costs guide explains why a low monthly equivalent can still be a larger commitment.
Decide what you want to learn from an upgrade before selecting a term. For example, you might want to know whether reviewing all incoming likes saves you time. That is something you can assess from use. “I will find a relationship by the end of the subscription” is not a result the product can promise.
Which version would we choose?
- Stay free if conversation access is all you need.
- You can match and chat without subscribing. Spend time using those functions before treating an upgrade as a necessary entrance fee.
- Consider Hinge+ for a named restriction.
- Unlimited likes, reviewing incoming likes together or an additional preference should be something you will actually use.
- Consider HingeX for its extra placement and discovery tools.
- You should be able to explain why those tools matter more to you than the benefits already in Hinge+.
- Pause the purchase if the problem is still unclear.
- A technical issue, an impractical distance range and conversations that stop are not interchangeable problems. Our no-matches troubleshooting guide helps separate them.
Questions about Hinge upgrades
Does HingeX guarantee that my likes are read?
No. Priority placement concerns the list order. Another person still decides whether to open the app, review your profile or match.
Does buying a subscription include every Rose or Boost I might want?
No. Subscriptions and consumable purchases are distinct products. Do not count a separately sold item as part of the plan merely because it appears beside it in the app.
Will deleting Hinge stop a subscription?
Removing the app is not a cancellation instruction. Use the account or store that billed the purchase. Our subscription cancellation guide explains the routes.
