WhatsYourPrice connects two account types: Generous members who make first-date offers and Attractive members who receive, accept, reject or counter those offers. When both people agree on an offer, the Generous member uses credits to unlock messaging so they can arrange the date.

The offer is a statement of how much a Generous member values the other person’s time for a first meeting. WhatsYourPrice does not process the date incentive and does not guarantee that an accepted offer will lead to a meeting. It is therefore a date-planning marketplace, not a subscription dating app or a payment service.

1. Registration and account types

Registration is free. Members choose either a Generous or Attractive account, add their location, profile details and photos, and complete email activation. The account type controls the offer flow: Generous members send offers, while Attractive members receive and respond to them.

2. First-date offers

A Generous member selects a profile and proposes a date incentive. The Attractive member can accept, reject or submit a counteroffer. An accepted offer does not create a legal obligation to meet and is not a payment collected by WhatsYourPrice. Both members remain responsible for agreeing the time, place and practical details.

3. Credits and message unlocking

Credits are purchased by Generous members. They are used after an offer has been accepted to unlock the private conversation with that member. Once unlocked, the two people can exchange messages and organise the date. Credits are not a recurring membership and do not expire through a monthly billing cycle.

4. Profiles and private photos

Profiles contain public information and photos, with optional private images shared selectively. Private-photo permission can be withdrawn by cancelling the offer connected to that member. Members can also block a profile, which removes further direct interaction.

5. Selfie and ID verification

A gold Selfie Verified badge confirms that a live selfie matched the profile photos. A blue ID Verified badge confirms that identity documentation passed the platform’s check. These checks are optional rather than mandatory for every account. Members may also submit for an optional background check, but the general member base is not subject to compulsory background screening.

6. Profile and photo moderation

New profiles and photos are reviewed before full use. Suspicious accounts can be suspended by automated security controls or removed by administrators. Reporting is available for misleading profiles, harassment, commercial solicitation and other rule violations.

7. Messaging limits

Members cannot open a private conversation simply by matching or viewing a profile. The offer must first be accepted, then the Generous member must spend credits to unlock communication. This reduces unsolicited messages for Attractive members but creates a paid step before Generous members can discuss the date.

8. Website and mobile use

WhatsYourPrice is primarily a web service and does not promote a dedicated UK mobile application. The responsive website supports profile browsing, offers, messages and account settings on a phone browser. Members who prefer a native app-store experience will find the service more limited than mainstream dating apps.

9. Billing and refund limits

Refunds are available when a contacted profile is removed by an administrator or acted on by the automated security system. Credits are not refunded merely because a member does not reply, contact details were exchanged, messages were sent or the date took place.

10. Main limitations

The offer model will not appeal to people who prefer conventional mutual matching. Generous members pay before private messaging, accepted offers do not guarantee a response or date, verification is optional, and the platform does not process or enforce the date incentive. These conditions make clear communication and public first meetings essential.

WhatsYourPrice is a credible but highly specialised alternative to ordinary dating apps. We recommend it to adults who prefer direct first-date proposals and understand that credits pay to unlock communication, not to guarantee a date.

It is not our recommendation for people uncomfortable discussing a date incentive or for anyone who expects a normal subscription with unlimited first messages. The 100-credit pack is the most sensible starting purchase because it limits the upfront spend.

WhatsYourPrice has no Premium subscription. Generous members purchase credits when they want to unlock messaging after a date offer has been accepted. The pound values below were checked on 19 July 2026.

The 500-credit pack reduces the unit price by about 40% compared with the starter pack. The 1,000-credit pack is the cheapest per credit, but it requires the largest upfront payment. Our first-purchase recommendation is the 100-credit pack.

Attractive members do not buy a conventional Premium plan. The principal paid action belongs to the Generous member, who spends credits to unlock the accepted offer and begin the private conversation.

Gold Selfie Verified and blue ID Verified badges identify two different checks. A member can have one, both or neither. Optional background screening is also available, but WhatsYourPrice does not subject every account to mandatory background checks.

• Selfie verification: Confirms that a live selfie resembles the person shown in the profile photos.
• ID verification: Confirms that identity documentation passed the platform’s review.
• Blocking: Prevents further contact from a selected member.
• Reporting: Sends suspected fraud, harassment or rule violations to the safety team.
• Private photos: Access can be granted selectively and later revoked.

The date incentive does not buy consent, exclusivity, physical contact or any guaranteed outcome. Both people can cancel or leave the meeting. First dates should take place in a public venue, with independent travel and without sharing banking credentials or identity documents.

The interface follows a clear sequence: browse a profile, send or receive an offer, negotiate the amount, accept or decline, unlock messaging and organise the meeting. This is more direct than extended app messaging, but the financial framing is present from the beginning.

Attractive members receive more control over who reaches the messaging stage. Generous members receive a faster route to proposing a date but must spend credits before they can discuss practical details privately. The website works on mobile browsers, although it feels more like a responsive site than an app-first product.
