Breeze Review UK

Breeze is a dating app for people who would rather meet than keep a promising match in a message thread. After you match, it helps organise a first date, usually at a partner venue. You pay for that service using a date token.

It is a useful option if you can commit to a plan and are comfortable meeting with little conversation beforehand. Unpredictable shifts, frequent travel or a preference for a lengthy chat make it harder to recommend.

Breeze sends a small selection of profiles each day. Mutual interest moves you into date planning, where you provide availability and pay for the arrangement. The emphasis is on making a meeting happen, rather than building a long chat history.

There is some messaging. The official FAQ describes a short logistics chat that opens four hours before the date and remains open for five hours. Other planning circumstances can also open contact. The important distinction is that you do not get a normal, extended conversation to assess a new match before committing.

That trade-off may suit a reader with limited patience for messaging. It also means your comfort with the format matters. If you need to discuss accessibility, dietary requirements or another practical condition before meeting, establish how the service can accommodate it before spending a token.

Where you can use Breeze in the UK

Breeze's official coverage page includes UK cities such as London and Manchester. Availability is based on the areas and arrangements it supports; the country flag on a download page does not tell you which venues you can reach or how many suitable people are active nearby.

Check your own city and a realistic date location before liking profiles. Consider the journey home as well as the journey there. A service that removes venue planning can still leave you with a trip that does not fit around work.

London also has a Group Dates option in the current FAQ. It describes a table of roughly six to ten singles at a partner bar, with the group selected using date preferences. This is a separate format from a one-to-one match, and the FAQ currently limits it to London.

Date tokens, prices and what is included

Browsing and matching are free. For a normal arranged date, each participant usually spends one date token. Tokens pay for the arrangement and associated service; the published terms also allow different rates for some formats, including a self-organised date. Check the rate shown for the activity you choose.

The latest token price is shown in the app. We could not verify one current, universal UK pound price from the public pages, so older prices in media coverage should not be treated as a quote for your account. Packages may offer a lower price per token, but tie up more money in the service.

A partner venue offers a deal on the first drink under the current FAQ. Check with staff which drinks qualify. Do not assume the token covers an unlimited bar tab, dinner, transport or a universally free first drink.

Before buying, work out the combined cost of the token, travel and anything else you expect to spend. Our dating costs guide explains how to compare this with a subscription-based service.

Booking deadlines and a changing diary

The format depends on both people responding and turning up. A new match normally gives you 72 hours to pay and provide availability. A final attendance confirmation is also required before the meeting. Ignoring these steps can cancel the date and count against your account.

You normally get one chance to replan. A second request, or a change within 24 hours of the date, can be declined by your match. At that point you may lose the token and face a restriction on new matching.

For someone whose meetings often run late, that is a real cost of the format. Set a date limit you can manage, avoid creating more commitments than your week can hold, and use the app's pause or sleep controls when you are unavailable. Read the current Breeze FAQ before committing to a date.

Cancellation and refunds are different

Cancelling a planned date yourself generally means losing the token. If you cancel before the date has been planned, the token can return to your wallet under the policy, without automatically becoming a cash refund. When the other person cancels, the policy has separate provisions for returning your token.

The UK and European user terms allow eligible unused wallet tokens to be refunded within 14 days of purchase, with exclusions for tokens already committed to a scheduled date, promotional tokens and specified bundled purchases. An in-app balance and money returned to your bank account are different outcomes.

Read the applicable rules before buying a package or opening date-related contact. Breeze treats delivery of parts of its service as relevant to refund eligibility; a date failing to become a relationship is not itself a refund reason. Use the current UK user terms and the in-app help for your particular cancellation, and keep the booking details.

Repeated cancellations can freeze access to new matching. The published FAQ describes freezes of three days to a month and stronger action for repeated problems. If a person or arrangement feels unsafe, protect yourself and report the issue; a token is not a reason to attend a meeting you are uncomfortable with.

Verification, venues and personal safety

Breeze uses screening and photo verification. A blue check describes a selfie check against the submitted photographs. Attendance and feedback badges concern different parts of participation; none proves a person's intentions or criminal history.

Partner venues know they are hosting a first date, and staff can help if something is wrong. That is a practical support point, rather than a guarantee of safety. Tell someone you trust where you will be, keep control of your transport, and leave if you want to. Paying for a date creates no obligation to stay, exchange numbers or accept further contact.

The app lets you report profiles, including through match history. Its FAQ also describes blocking known contacts by phone number. Consider carefully which contacts you share with any service, and avoid putting an exact workplace or home location in your profile.

After the date and leaving the service

Breeze asks for feedback after a meeting. The FAQ describes an optional phone-number exchange if both people agree. You can decline it; a pleasant first date does not require giving someone access to you outside the app.

If you want a break, review sleep mode and any remaining commitments. Deleting an account is more final: the FAQ says it cancels upcoming dates and removes remaining tokens. The terms require eligible refund requests to be made while the account is still active, within the relevant period.

Uninstalling the app does not delete the account. The privacy policy provides for retention of some records after deletion for operational, safety and legal reasons. Handle any outstanding dates or eligible refund query before closing the account.

Common questions

Is Breeze a subscription dating app?

Its main model is free discovery followed by payment for dates using tokens. The public FAQ describes no premium subscription. Check optional activities and package prices separately.

Can I chat before deciding to meet?

The service is built around arranging the meeting without a normal chat beforehand. A short pre-date logistics chat exists, but readers who need substantial conversation first should choose another app.

Is Breeze good for people who work shifts?

It can work with a predictable rota. Frequent short-notice changes are a harder fit because of the planning deadlines, token losses and cancellation restrictions. Choose only dates you can reasonably keep.

Our verdict and alternatives

Breeze offers a clear benefit: it takes much of the organising out of an initial date. For that to be worthwhile, you need nearby venues, a dependable diary and enough confidence in the limited information available before meeting.

Choose Hinge for free conversations at your own pace, or Inner Circle if a lifestyle-focused community and events appeal more than arranged one-to-one bookings. Compare the options in our UK professional dating guide.
